We're looking for a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Coordinator to join our Group Training Organisation (GTO) team. If you're passionate about building long-term partnerships, delivering exceptional customer service and connecting businesses with talented apprentices and trainees, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with employers across industries including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning and renewable energy, helping them access the skilled workforce they need while supporting apprentices to thrive.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager – Industry Growth and Engagement, you'll manage a portfolio of existing and inactive Host Employers, past graduates and employers engaging with PEER's training services.
Your focus will be on strengthening employer relationships, identifying workforce opportunities and ensuring PEER remains the preferred apprenticeship, traineeship and training partner.
You'll spend time visiting employers, understanding their workforce needs, promoting PEER's employment and training services and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage strong relationships with PEER Alumni, inactive host employers and key industry stakeholders.
Re-engage inactive employers and grow sustainable apprenticeship opportunities.
Promote PEER's employment and training services to existing and prospective clients.
Conduct regular employer visits and maintain meaningful ongoing engagement.
Support employer enquiries and provide responsive customer service.
Maintain accurate employer records and reporting within PEER systems.
Represent PEER at industry events, networking opportunities and community engagement activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to GTO team objectives.
About You
You're someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
You are commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You'll also bring:
- Experience in account management, employer engagement or stakeholder relationship management.
- A proven ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and business management systems.
- A proactive approach with a genuine commitment to customer service
- Experience within apprenticeships, vocational education and training, group training, construction, trades or related industries will be highly regarded.
What You'll Need
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
Current Driver's Licence.
Flexibility to attend employer visits, networking events and occasional after-hours functions.
