VET in Schools (VETiS) Coordinator
Full-time - Education Services - RTO

Help shape career pathways for South Australian students!

 

PEER is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and relationship-focused professional to coordinate and grow our VET in Schools (VETiS) programs. This role plays a key part in connecting secondary schools, students, trainers, and industry to create meaningful pathways from school into vocational training. 

 

About the Role 

As the VETiS Coordinator, you will lead the coordination, delivery, and expansion of VETiS programs across South Australia. You will manage key relationships with schools and industry, support student engagement, and help strengthen pathways into vocational education and employment. 

Reporting to the Education Manager VETiS, you will contribute to both day-to-day program operations and broader engagement initiatives that drive participation and outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Build and maintain strong partnerships with secondary schools and key internal/external stakeholders; communicate effectively with students, families, schools, trainers, and employers; support positive outcomes and manage behaviour and conflict in line with policies.
  • Program Coordination & Delivery: Plan, coordinate, and deliver Try-a-Trade activities, school visits, VETRO processes (including SRNI), and other learner engagement initiatives; coordinate LLN assessments and support trainers to provide safe, inclusive, high-quality learning environments.
  • Student Pathways & Support: Support student transitions into apprenticeships and vocational pathways; manage student matters, including behavioural issues and complaints, with fairness and professionalism.
  • Administration & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate records and reporting; manage scheduling, communications, and learner information; respond to enquiries; and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

About You 

You are an organised and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders. You bring strong relationship-building skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. 

 

Essential Skills & Experience 

  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and empathy when managing sensitive situations
  • Ability to conduct fair, objective and unbiased investigations, including within school environments
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail  
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Solid digital literacy, including Microsoft Office  

 

Desirable 

  • Experience within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)  
  • Knowledge of VET in Schools programs  
  • Experience working with young people, apprentices, or trainees  
  • Understanding of apprenticeship and traineeship pathways  
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
