LOOKING FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP? We are currently recruiting for the following: Boilermaker Fitter Refractory Brick Layer WHY PEER? PEER in collaboration with BHP will offer you the opportunity to gain experience whilst you work closely with trade qualified personnel and other various departments across different sections of the Olympic Dam Mine Site. Olympic Dam is one of the world’s largest ore bodies. Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, it is one of the world’s largest deposits of copper, gold and uranium and it also has a significant deposit of silver. Olympic Dam operates a fully integrated processing facility from ore to metal. As an apprentice with PEER, you will receive accredited trade training and gain relevant on the job experience whilst working on site at BHP Olympic Dam. Working hands-on in a trade, whilst developing skills on a mine site is a truly unique experience and a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career. Essential Requirements: - Full Australian Working Rights
- A valid drivers licence
- Ability to pass Pre Employment Medical with a drug and alcohol screen
- Ability to pass a National Police check and/or Working with Children’s Check
Our successful applicants will have: - Strengths in STEM studies and/or Trade Studies
- Relevant work experience
- Completion of a Certificate II in a relevant trade study (not mandatory)
- Overall, a strong commitment to safety, passion for what your desired trade/line of work and willingness to adapt quickly and learn new things.
- Have a great attitude
In return you will: - On successful completion receive a Trade Qualification
- Be provided a mentor that will support you throughout your apprenticeship
- Flights/Bus, Meals, Accommodation provided whilst on site
- Join a 7 day on 7day off roster, working 12-hour shifts
- Have 4 years of job security
